BDO recruits Brisbane tax partner
TaxBDO has continued its partner growth trajectory with an appointment of an experienced tax professional.
Sally Preston has joined BDO’s Brisbane office this week, where she will specialise in restructures and transaction advisory.
Ms Preston joins BDO from Moore Australia, where she established and headed up the firm’s tax practice.
Commenting off the back of the appointment, BDO’s partner in charge of tax in Brisbane, Sharnie Mitchell, credited Ms Preston’s wealth of experience, noting she has advised on a diverse range of tax issues throughout her career.
“We are excited to have Sally join the BDO tax team,” Ms Mitchell said.
“The addition of Sally to the team supports the unprecedented growth the firm has experienced and further strengthens BDO’s place in the Brisbane market as a leading tax advisory practice.”
The appointment of Ms Preston comes soon after BDO confirmed the appointment of Catherine Dean, who will join BDO in Sydney from 15 November.
Ms Dean joins from KPMG and will focus on providing M&A transactional, advisory and tax compliance services to clients particularly in the energy and resources, industrial markets, corporates and charitable sectors in her new role.
Ms Dean’s appointment followed that of Paul Doyle’s, who was appointed to BDO’s Sydney-based financial services practice in September.
In July, the mid-tier welcomed 10 partners to its leadership. The move followed an additional 15 appointed to the partnership in February, bringing BDO’s financial year partner intake to 25 – the largest in the history of the firm.
