BDO welcomes corporate tax partner
TaxAn experienced corporate tax partner will join BDO’s Sydney office this month following her departure from KPMG.
Catherine Dean will join BDO in Sydney from 15 November where she will focus on providing M&A transactional, advisory and tax compliance services to clients particularly in the energy and resources, industrial markets, corporates and charitable sectors.
The appointment of Ms Dean comes as BDO looks to maximise its client offering as Australia’s borders start to reopen.
“Catherine is a great addition to our growing team, being highly sought after by clients for her technical excellence combined with her pragmatic approach,” BDO national tax leader, Neil Billyard, said.
“Catherine is well respected in the industry, being a sought after speaker and publisher of a number of industry leading technical papers and reports.
“Catherine joins us at a time where the demand for our services has never been higher and adds considerable capability to the team. I personally look forward to working with Catherine for many years into the future.”
Ms Dean’s appointment follows that of Paul Doyle’s, who was appointed to BDO’s Sydney-based financial services practice in September.
In July, the mid-tier welcomed 10 partners to its leadership. The move followed an additional 15 appointed to the partnership in February, bringing BDO’s financial year partner intake to 25 – the largest in the history of the firm.
