Altus Financial merges with Honan Partners

Business

Integrated private client advice firm Altus Financial has entered its second merger in as many months, this time teaming up with Sydney advice practice Honan Partners.

Honan Partners, which is based in Macquarie Park in Sydney, has been operating in the advisory landscape for 40 years, offering specialist capabilities across tax, consulting, business and property advisory, and private family office wealth services.

The Honan team has already joined Altus and will continue to operate from the Macquarie Park premises, working closely with and supported by Altus.

The merger, Altus said in a statement, “cements [its] reputation as one of Australia’s fastest-growing professional services businesses providing integrated financial advice to private clients” and “reflects its bold strategy to deliver leading advice to the private client market, while retaining its strategic agility, strategic partnership mentality, client-first culture and employee ownership model”.

The news follows the recent merger between Altus Financial and financial advisory outfit Fortuity, which the two businesses said at the time would “reshape” the professional services landscape on the Central Coast of NSW.

Speaking about the merger, Altus managing director Scott Young said: “Altus is building a modern growth orientated professional advice business that partners with aspiring business owners and supports wealthy families.

“These clients demand a business with the capability to deliver depth & breadth of expertise, while ensuring a relationship-driven client value proposition. The Honan merger accelerates our vision and employee ownership model.

“Honan’s culture of personalisation and high touch client service is a perfect match for ours. Together we know we will be stronger as one creating value for our clients and pathways for our people.”

Honan Partners managing partner Neil Honan added: “Since 1984, we have been privileged to support business owners and families with their most important challenges.

“Joining Altus allows us to continue this work with greater resources, while remaining guided by the values that have shaped Honan Partners from the very start. It also opens up meaningful opportunities for our people, most of whom have been with us for many years.

“After a careful search for the right partner, we are pleased to have found one in Scott and the Altus team. We’re really excited by what we can do together.”
