Gender equity in the accounting industry - the opportunity in the new world of work

Accountants and bookkeepers have faced massive challenges over the past two years, as threats to business continuity, evolving risks and new operating models emerged in response to a completely new operating environment COVID necessitated.

These challenges mean there is nothing ‘standard’ about our standard operating procedures anymore. Firms are being forced to adapt and face new obstacles like extreme talent shortages, a need for flexible workplaces and adopting new cloud-based technologies to succeed in a virtual world.

Amongst these challenges, changes and a new world of work is a huge opportunity. The opportunity to embrace diversity - specifically to retain, promote and win-back women in our firms. In fact, new research from Intuit QuickBooks found that 4 in 5 accountants and bookkeepers believe that there are commercial benefits to gender diversity.

Join our all-star panel as they continue the conversation, unpack the research, and tackle the big issues like addressing the gender pay gap, the barriers to leadership faced by men & women, the need for flexible work, technology and support needed from government & professional bodies.
