Embedded within MYOB’s products, Iris by MYOB is the intelligence layer that shifts the platform from record-keeping to providing insight that guides practical action. Rather than sitting alongside the software as a separate tool, the provider said in a statement, “it surfaces information throughout the platform to inform and support customers as they make decisions with greater confidence”.

MYOB describes this approach as “woven intelligence”, with Iris by MYOB integrated throughout the systems businesses already use every day. By combining AI with trusted financial and operational data, the company says Iris by MYOB delivers support that is contextual, relevant, and practical. The aim is for businesses to spend less time searching for information and more time acting on it.

3 connected capabilities and tailored support

Customers will initially experience Iris by MYOB through three connected capabilities, as MYOB expands its growing portfolio of AI-enabled products and features:

  • “Guidance and action embedded in everyday workflows, including ongoing preparation of AI BAS data for review, smart reconciliation and category suggestions.
  • Proactive insights that identify opportunities, risks and next steps, including AI Business Insights.
  • Conversational interactions that allow customers to ‘Ask Iris’ questions about their business data in natural language via embedded chat.”

Together, MYOB says, these capabilities are designed to reduce complexity for business owners and advisors while making business software more intuitive, responsive and valuable.

The provider said that Iris by MYOB adapts its support as a business evolves, providing increasingly tailored guidance, recommendations and insights based on the unique needs of that business, and further stressed that business owners remain in control, with Iris by MYOB designed to support human decision-making.

Over time, Iris by MYOB will continue to evolve into new areas of the platform, extending beyond insight and guidance to support more sophisticated actions and outcomes, with the provider saying that, as AI capabilities advance, it will continue to focus on delivering practical applications that help customers achieve more with less effort.

Making AI ‘an embedded part of the experience’

MYOB chief executive Paul Robson said that Iris by MYOB continues the platform’s drive to help business owners unlock more value from the tools powering their business.

"Business owners today need and expect more help managing the day-to-day demands of running their business. Iris by MYOB responds to a core business priority: timely access to the right information and support to keep work moving forward,” he said.

"SMEs are looking for less complexity. They need the systems they already trust to become more useful, more connected and more responsive.”

"Iris by MYOB makes AI an embedded part of the experience rather than a separate destination, helping businesses turn trusted data into decisions, and decisions into action."

Robson went on to say that MYOB’s longstanding relationship with the Australian and New Zealand business community creates a unique foundation for delivering AI that is practical, trusted and locally relevant.

"For more than 35 years, MYOB has helped businesses across Australia and New Zealand start, survive and succeed. Continuing to integrate AI with our product suite puts more power into the hands of our customers and partners, making our solutions even more valuable,” he said.

"We want to make the systems businesses already depend on more intelligent and more helpful. Iris by MYOB is how we’re bringing that to life, creating software that doesn’t just help businesses manage their operations, but actively helps them move forward."
