MYOB user fury continues following upgrade push

MYOB users aren’t convinced that they won’t be forced into upgrading their software, as conflicting communications from the software giant create confusion in its online community.

Users of the popular AccountRight service continue to demand a “straight answer” from MYOB, with some saying sales and support representatives are suggesting an upgrade is necessary for those using AccountRight Classic v19.


“MYOB keep saying that they are not forcing people to upgrade, but there is enough anecdotal evidence to the contrary,” said one user in its community forum. “MYOB reps are still telling people they must upgrade.”

This is creating confusion given MYOB’s statement last week, in which it said there will be no forced upgrades, and users will still be able to access files if they elect to stay with their current software. You can read more about this here.

A MYOB spokesperson told Accountants Daily this morning that any concerned users should get in touch with its call centre.
