TaxA former PwC partner has now been appointed as a member of the Tax Practitioners Board.
Assistant Treasurer Michael Sukkar has now appointed Peter Hogan as a new Tax Practitioners Board member for a three-year term.
A chartered accountant with over 50 years of experience, Mr Hogan began his career at the ATO before retiring as a corporate tax partner with PwC in 2008.
Mr Hogan’s appointment to the TPB comes after former board member Jim Hawson resigned from his role in May after serving nearly six years on the board.
Mr Hogan is currently a member of the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission advisory board, and also serves on the board of Don Bosco (Brunswick) Youth Foundation Inc.
He has also served as deputy chair of Villa Maria Catholic Homes Ltd, director and treasurer of Edmund Rice Foundation (Australia) Ltd, and is a former board chair of St Bernard’s College, Essendon.
TPB chair Ian Klug congratulated Mr Hogan on his appointment and said he was looking forward to working alongside him to prepare for changes recommended by the Keith James-led independent review of the TPB.
“Peter brings a wealth of experience, both as a tax professional and in leadership and governance which will be invaluable to the board as we prepare for the future and to implement the government reforms from the James review,” said Mr Klug.
The TPB now consists of members Craig Stephens, Debra Anderson, Greg Lewis, Judy Sullivan, Julianne Jaques, Peter de Cure and Peter Hogan.
