A Sydney-based tax law firm has expanded its service offerings with its integration with Western Sydney law firm Coleman Greig.

Coleman Greig has announced an integration with specialist tax law firm Argyle Lawyers, now offering expertise in federal, state and international tax advice, negotiation and risk management as well as superannuation and trusts.

The merger will see Coleman Greig operating from its Parramatta, Norwest Business Park, Penrith and Campbelltown-Macarthur locations, as well as the current offices of Argyle Lawyers in the Sydney CBD.

Coleman Greig chief executive Warrick McLean said the merger was a “significant milestone” for the firm in providing specialist tax advice.

“To be integrating two such highly regarded and respected practices is a significant milestone,” Mr McLean said.

“We are both solutions-focused, and combined, we significantly strengthen our commercial and personal suite of services.

“Having the Argyle team within Coleman Greig offers clients access to the 2015 Tax Institute Advisor of the Year (SME) as well as an accredited specialist in taxation law and dual-qualified lawyers/chartered accountants who can provide advice on a national level.”

Argyle Lawyers principal Peter Bobbin welcomed the announcement, noting how the firm had been at the forefront of Australia’s tax changes since its inception in 1982.

“Being at the forefront of our field has allowed us to be an influence on taxation and other laws that impact on the lives and wellbeing of people and commercial entities,” Mr Bobbin said.

“We are regularly appointed as key managers of ATO audits and disputes where we can add significant strategic insight.

“Joining the team at Coleman Greig will allow us to put our client-focused tax, superannuation and other planning into greater effect.”
