Wrkr has revealed that a successful pilot of its employer services platform has been completed alongside Rest and in partnership with MUFG Retirement Solutions (MUFG).
The three organisations teamed up to pilot a production version of the Wrkr platform for the purpose of testing and receiving constructive feedback from Rest and MUFG users and employers.

According to Wrkr, production data was used over the pilot period, including the onboarding of new businesses and users and the processing of numerous super contributions.
The testing period ahead of the beginning of payday super was also used to co-design improvements and features to ensure a significant uplift in user experience from current experiences and test alignment to payday super changes.
Trent Lund, chief executive of Wrkr, said the pilot period of the platform has better equipped the organisations ahead of the payday super legislation changes.
“We’re delighted to have completed a comprehensive pilot with Rest and MUFG Retirement Solutions, which rigorously tested our industry-leading employer services platform in a real-world superannuation environment,” Lund said.
“The participating Rest employers provided positive feedback about the platform’s simple and intuitive user experience. This is a significant step forward in Rest’s preparations in helping their employers prepare for payday super.”
Rest noted that following the successful pilot, it was now well positioned to accelerate preparations for the introduction of payday super expected in July 2026 for its 2 million-plus members and around $93 billion in funds under management.
Rest chief service officer Brendan Daly said the payday super reforms were strongly supported.
“We believe payday super will help many of our members – and millions of working Australians – achieve fairer retirement outcomes, particularly for those who work in part-time and casual roles. We strongly support these reforms, but we’re also conscious of the potential impact they could have on employers and the need to upgrade administration infrastructure ahead of the changes,” Daly said.
“We are pleased with the success of the pilot and the encouraging responses we received from the participating employers, and we look forward to working closely with Wrkr and MUFG on the next steps to roll out the platform in the coming months.”
