From launching a mobile accounting service and pop-up kiosk in shopping centres — a bold move at the time — to leading a purpose-driven national franchise network, Anna Rante, Founder and CEO of Right and Keystone Group and Harvard Business School alumna, has spent over a decade redefining what inclusive success means in the accounting and finance industry.
How did you start down this career path?
When I migrated to Australia at 21, I quickly learned how challenging it could be to start over. Despite my qualifications, every opportunity ended with the same feedback — “you need local experience.” After months of rejection, I realised that if no one would give me a chance, I’d have to create one myself.
In 2011, I started a small accounting practice — just me, my laptop, and a genuine desire to help people who didn’t have access to professional financial guidance. That small beginning evolved into Right and Keystone Group, a purpose-driven network dedicated to empowering underrepresented professionals.
Its taxation division, R&K Taxation Experts, became the foundation of the Group — offering inclusive pathways for franchisees and accessible tax services for clients across Australia. What began as one woman’s practice now spans 25 franchise offices and over 20,000 clients nationwide, proving that inclusion and opportunity can create lasting impact.
What inspires you in your role/industry? Why?
I’m inspired by transformation — not just in numbers, but in people. The most rewarding part of my work is seeing someone who once doubted their potential go on to build a thriving practice under our brand or become financially independent through our training programs.
Accounting, to me, has never been just about compliance. It’s a tool for empowerment. We help people understand money, make better decisions, and create generational impact. That human element — the ability to change lives through financial literacy — is what keeps me passionate about this industry every day.
What’s your approach to customer service that separates you from the rest?
We lead with empathy and education. Our clients aren’t just tax file numbers — they’re individuals with dreams, challenges, and unique stories. We take the time to explain, not just process.
At Right and Keystone, our mantra is “change the world, one client at a time.” Whether it’s helping a first-time business owner understand cash flow or guiding a family through tax planning for their future, we ensure every client leaves feeling more empowered and informed than when they came in.
We’ve built long-term relationships because our approach goes beyond transactions. It’s about trust, transparency, and the belief that when clients grow, we grow with them.
How do you innovate and stay ahead of industry trends?
For me, innovation begins with empathy. Technology only matters when it makes life simpler, smarter, and more meaningful for the people who use it. The accounting industry is evolving rapidly, and staying ahead means combining digital transformation with genuine human understanding.
That philosophy led me to found TaxEase360, an AI-powered platform designed to simplify tax management and make financial tools more accessible to everyone. Finley, our intelligent assistant, helps individuals and accountants organise documents, identify deductions, and plan proactively — transforming a process people once dreaded into an empowering experience.
We also invest heavily in training and technology for our franchisees — equipping them with digital tools and advisory skills to evolve from compliance specialists into trusted business partners. For us, innovation isn’t about keeping up; it’s about creating progress that uplifts people.
What is the toughest challenge you’ve faced in your role? How did you overcome it?
Balancing growth with purpose has been my greatest challenge. As our network expanded, I realised success isn’t just about scaling — it’s about staying true to our values. I had to ensure our culture of empathy and excellence remained consistent across every franchise.
That meant creating structure — developing leadership programs, systems, and the Franchise Readiness Pathway to help new partners grow with confidence and integrity. It also meant learning to let go and trust others to lead with the same commitment and care.
Building a national business while raising five (Just welcomed baby #5 this month!) children taught me resilience in its truest form. There were times I questioned whether I could do it all, but every challenge reminded me why I started — to build something meaningful that lasts beyond me.
What are some of your goals for the next five years?
Over the next five years, my focus is on deepening impact while driving innovation.
At Right and Keystone Group, we’ll continue expanding into complementary verticals such as Business Advisory, Lending (Mortgage and Finance), and Bookkeeping franchises — creating a full-service ecosystem that helps clients and franchisees achieve long-term success.
Building on this momentum, I’m scaling TaxEase360 to reach global markets — beginning with Australia and the US — empowering individuals and small businesses through smarter tax technology.
Education remains central to my mission. Through Financially Fit CEO, an education platform for founders and executives, and The She-EO Next Door, my coaching initiative for women entrepreneurs, I’ll continue to mentor and advocate for inclusive growth in business and finance.
Ultimately, my goal is to merge innovation with impact — proving that success and social responsibility can coexist beautifully.
