A recent report showed that the global RSM network grew 7.6 per cent after its first full year operating as a global brand, with the firm seeing a 20 per cent increase in cross-border services to internationally active middle-market clients.
RSM Australia has contributed 4.57 per cent growth to the global RSM network.
Areas experiencing the most growth overall included tax, which grew by 23.4 per cent locally and 7.5 per cent globally, and audit, which grew by 18.6 per cent.
RSM Australia’s national chairman Jamie O’Rourke said the expansion of the global network could deliver “a strong value proposition to Australian businesses looking to expand internationally”.
“The brand unification that saw RSM Bird Cameron become RSM Australia has been successful in letting RSM deliver on its unified vision to be the provider of choice to mid-market businesses worldwide,” Mr O’Rourke said.
“Having such a strong global network in place means we can deliver a strong value proposition to Australian businesses looking to expand internationally, as well as continuing to deliver unparalleled service to clients that operate purely in Australia.”
The report further showed that more than 70 per cent of RSM firms reported growth in 2016, with fee income showing growth across all regions (Asia-Pacific growing by 8 per cent).
RSM International CEO Jean Stephens said RSM was able to deliver confident growth throughout 2016, “despite looming uncertainty in the global economic and financial landscape” brought on by the “implications of Brexit and the Trump administration”.
“2017 presents many challenges for middle-market businesses and will be defined by uncertainty. Middle-market businesses will face fluctuating exchange rates, cash flow issues and devaluations, among other challenges,” Mr Stephens said.
“Many economies are being influenced by the uncertain political climate, both locally and globally.
“Clients need trusted support to realise new opportunities, with advice and insights from an adviser that has a deep understanding of their particular business environment.”
Since January 2016, RSM has expanded its geographical coverage, welcoming partners and staff across Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe and Latin America.
