Qantas adviser wins big at Tax Institute Awards

The head of the Qantas tax team has taken out the top prize at this year's Tax Institute Awards.

Mark Bradford, CTA, was awarded the Charted Tax Adviser of the Year award as part of the Tax Institute's 31st National Convention in Melbourne. Starting his career more than 25 years ago in the private business division at KPMG, Mr Bradford is now the leader of the tax team for Qantas.

"This year, not only did we have such a diverse range of finalists, we also had strong candidates throughout the application process," said Noel Rowland, CEO of The Tax Institute.

Other winners on the night included Tim Poli, ATI, a lawyer from WA who was recognised as the Emerging Tax Star, a category that recognises individuals with less than five years’ experience.

Paul Banister, CTA, from Grant Thornton's Queensland office, was recognised as the leading SME tax adviser, while international tax specialist Peter Collins, FTI, from PwC's Victorian office, was recognised as the leading corporate tax adviser.
