A mid-tier firm has expanded its footprint along the east coast with the acquisition of a chartered accounting firm in Gosford.
RSM Australia has now acquired the practice of LWM Group in Gosford, taking its national presence to 33 offices, with six located in New South Wales.
LWM Group, founded by Ian Lamont and Matthew Moore, will see its three directors become partners of RSM, with 26 staff joining as employees. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
“We are delighted to welcome Matthew Moore, Sean Mulligan, Simon Hardie and their team. LWM Group has a 30-year history of working with business owners and individuals in the Central Coast,” said Jamie O’Rourke, national chairman, RSM.
The acquisition will see RSM further expand into regional NSW, having already established a presence in Port Macquarie, Goulburn, Wagga Wagga and Albury.
Matthew Moore, LWM’s managing partner, said the acquisition would provide its clients with a wider breadth and depth of services through RSM including R&D tax, financial planning and corporate advice on complex issues including the sale of larger family businesses.
“We are excited to be joining a firm that values our experiences and the strong individual relationships we have with our clients,” said Mr Moore.
“We also share similar cultural values which was an important consideration when determining the right fit.”
