Leadership, structural changes at BDO’s Perth arm

Business

BDO Perth has this morning announced some leadership changes, including regarding its chief executive officer, in an effort to align itself with the mid-tier’s national structure.

Mergers and acquisitions partner Peter Toll has been appointed as the Perth office’s managing partner. He will continue to lead the mergers and acquisitions practice.

BDO Perth’s chief executive, Gerard Moody, will take up a national role as chief operating officer at BDO Australia.

Mr Moody will continue to be based in the Perth office, but his focus will be on national integration.

His role will include assisting local office managing partners to progress their merger readiness and to assist the various BDO offices across the country in achieving strategic and operational alignment.

“Our new leadership structure in Perth aligns us better with BDO practices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide which have recently moved away from an independent CEO structure in favour of a more direct management model,” BDO Perth chairman Sherif Andrawes said.

“Aligning the structure of the BDO practices around the country is an important step ahead of our planned national integration. Integrating nationally will better position BDO in Australia to serve clients and to invest in existing and new areas.

“In the current environment, the role of an office managing partner also takes away a layer of local administration and allows us to be much more nimble in our decision-making processes,” Mr Andrawes said.
