Accountants have been warned on potential inconsistency issues and wavering quality levels when it comes to ad hoc outsourcing of operations overseas.

Andrew Noble, of outsourcing platform and provider AccSource, has advised accountants on the difficulties of controlling and managing outsourcing operations.
According to Mr Noble, while operations are easy enough to set up, problems can arise fairly quickly.
“The positive side is that as long as your infrastructure is set up correctly, it’s easy enough to get someone overseas to log in and do some work for you,” he said.
“The negative parts are that it’s actually quite difficult to control and manage people overseas.”
Mr Noble added that inconsistent quality levels prove to be the biggest issue for accountants when aligning with an outsourcing provider.
“What I found when using people ad hoc overseas was that you don’t get any control over quality,” he said.
“You don’t have a management team over there and you end up with quality that’s up and down.”
According to Mr Noble, fluctuating levels of quality and success will only seek to dent the confidence level of an accountant who is attempting to foray into the world of outsourcing.
“You lose confidence in the personnel that you’re dealing with.”
A lack of faith in the current outsourcing climate led to Mr Noble establishing his own platform in AccSource, a platform forged as a result of aligning with several Chennai-based KPMG employees, and backed by the funding of a collection of Perth-based accounting firms.
“We had three firms and two guys from Chennai who helped us set up our own team. That is still the backbone of what we have today,” he said.
“We have the same two leaders over in Chennai, but now with a team of 70.”
