Bentleys has appointed director Martin Power to the role of chairman for Australia and New Zealand, following the retirement of Nick Storer.

Mr Power, an audit partner in the firm’s Brisbane office, joined Bentleys in 1987 and has served on the national board for five years.
In his capacity as chairman, he will lead Bentleys' national management board, which comprises members from Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand.
Mr Power said his priorities as chairman will be three-fold: to expand Bentleys’ footprint across Australia and New Zealand; to continue to innovate; and to leverage the firm's international affiliation with Kreston.
“Our focus is on growing Bentleys’ presence so we can continue to serve increasing numbers of clients. This extends beyond just our physical footprint. Knowledge sharing and cohesiveness across the national and international network will be key to innovation and longevity for Bentleys in the coming years.
“I look forward to realising the potential of the network by further leveraging the varied expertise among our offices to the benefit of our clients nationwide.”
Mr Power said he is excited to be taking on the role at a time when the accounting profession is undergoing significant change, presenting great opportunities for those who can adapt.
“New technology and industry consolidation will present challenges to our industry, but also enormous opportunities to innovate. The game is changing and you have to change the way you play the game. We intend to continue our focus on technology, and look for ways we can increase the value we provide to clients by diversifying our offering.
“Across the board, we recognise our value is intrinsically linked to the relationships we develop with each and every client and we will continue to prioritise that element of our business.
Mr Power also thanked Nick Storer for his service as a director on the Bentleys national board over many years and his two terms as chairman.
“Nick has made a significant contribution to the success of Bentleys. During his term as chair, we have grown Bentleys’ presence in Tasmania and New Zealand, and completed a major re-brand of Bentleys. We wish him all the best in his retirement.”
