Deloitte announces another acquisition

Deloitte has announced another acquisition, which will form part of a revamped and significantly larger sustainability practice.

By Staff Reporter2 minute read

Earlier this week, the firm purchased Alinea Consulting, a safety leadership and culture change business, with director and principal consultant Jane Magree joining Deloitte as a partner.

The firm has also merged its sustainability and workplace health and safety businesses to create one of the largest professional services sustainability practices in Australia.

Deloitte Sydney managing partner Dennis Krallis said the move will help the firm service growing demand for sustainability services across Australia.

“A combined Deloitte Sustainability Services will make sure our clients can identify and de-risk their supply chains, their legal, financial, social, and labour and environmental risks long term,” he said.

“It’s about being able to help organisations meet their obligations to society, to the environment and their finances in a sustainable way. That’s the game changer,” Mr Krallis said.

“Our strategy is to bring businesses together to seamlessly meet the new and emerging shifts in the marketplace."

Mr Krallis added he is "really excited about the leadership combination" of the new business.

“The four-strong partner team brings together a qualified psychologist (Jane Magree), a lawyer (Tony Morris), an accountant (Paul Dobson) and an engineer, (Shailesh Tyagi),” he said.

“The team is determined to mobilise in a way that combines sustainable behavioural change, environmental and workplace need and innovative leadership."

The acquisition of Alinea comes in the same week as the firm announced it has purchased Engage Super Audits. Deloitte has also made six other significant acquisitions in the past 12 months, all aimed at expanding the firm's service offering to meet changing client expectations.
