BDO has announced its ECP CEO Chris Brant, who managed BDO’s Sydney and Melbourne practices, will leave the firm, following a decision by the firm’s board.
According to BDO chairman Helen Argiris, the move was made to ensure the BDO firms remain agile in a "changing business environment" and was not in response to Mr Brant’s performance as CEO.
“The business environment is undergoing significant and rapid change and BDO will continue to evolve to remain ahead of the curve,” Ms Argiris said.
“The needs of our clients are varied and challenging and we have put in place leadership that responds at the coal face for both of our key markets in Sydney and Melbourne.
“This is about aligning our leadership to reflect and respond to a changing business environment,” she said.
Grant Saxon, a senior audit partner, will become managing partner for Sydney while David Garvey will continue as managing partner for Melbourne.
Both Mr Saxon and Mr Garvey are current members of BDO’s leadership team.
In a statement, the firm said the two will work closely with Ms Argiris to ensure that the vision for BDO, both nationally and within the ECP, is reflected in those individual markets.
