Deloitte has made another acquisition to boost its consultancy practice, in line with an industry trend of M&A activity to increase firms' service offerings.

Deloitte has acquired Queensland web content management consultancy Digicon.

In a statement, Deloitte said the acquisition will bring "additional strength in next generation technology such as Sitecore, with its innovative web personalisation functionality".
The acquisition will see 20 digital specialists join the Deloitte team, creating a new studio in Brisbane which will become the fourth Deloitte Digital location in Australia.
Digicon managing director Lola Weller said she is excited to join the firm and take advantage of its substantial resources and wide scope of expertise.
"By Digicon joining Deloitte, we now have the expertise of Deloitte combined with the technical capacity and capability of an established Queensland Sitecore team in Digicon,” she said.
“Sitecore, as a platform, enables cutting-edge digital. We love what we do and are excited about the offering to the digital market across Australia," Ms Weller added.
The announcement is the latest in a series made by the big four flagging boosts to their digital capability. Rob Bazzani, KPMG’s head of private clients, recently told AccountantsDaily this activity is down to changing client expectations.
“I think it would be fair to say that the entire market is evolving to where accountants need to be a true adviser, a true professional services firm rather than being viewed as an accountant or a tax adviser,” he said.
Mr Bazzani expects continued M&A activity in the space as firms look to expand their service offering to meet clients' changing expectations.
“Where there’s a capability gap in our service offering we will look in-house to fill that; otherwise, we will acquire it,” Mr Bazzani said.
