Reckon announces leadership shake-up

Business

Reckon has announced major changes to its leadership structure, appointing an industry veteran to lead the company in the newly created position of managing director, Australia and New Zealand.

By Staff Reporter 8 minute read

Sam Allert, currently managing director for Reckon’s accountant group, will take up the position effective immediately, overseeing both the accountant and business groups for Reckon in Australia and New Zealand.

Pete Sanders, formerly head of Reckon’s business group, has also left the company as part of the shake-up.

Reckon director and group chief executive, Clive Rabie, said Mr Allert’s commitment to championing innovation combined with his intricate knowledge of the company and the market makes him a perfect choice to lead Reckon in the region.

“Having worked with Reckon for over 15 years already, Sam’s experience straddles across all of Reckon’s business products and roles. He is extremely well placed to assume the role of Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand,” Mr Rabie said.

“The change is consistent with our ongoing strategy, including capitalising on cross-selling opportunities in the common markets the businesses focus on.”

Mr Allert said he is thrilled to take on the position at a very exciting time both for the company and the wider industry.

“I am energised by our ability to change and grow, and I look forward to the success which lies ahead," he said.

“We have an amazing team at Reckon and with my new role this will allow us to leverage our teams' expertise and provide even more value for our clients.”

The firm has successfully rebranded over the past year after parting ways with QuickBooks.

Reckon has also beefed up its cloud offering, announcing a major update to its cloud-based Reckon One software this week.
