Sage announces new tool for accountants

Business

Sage Handisoft has launched a new module it claims will reduce administrative downtime for accountants and their clients.

By Staff Reporter 8 minute read

The Client Portal module enables users to securely share, exchange and digitally approve client files online. Accountants can create folders for their individual clients in order to share and exchange files such as accounting data, tax returns and financial statements in a highly secure, encrypted environment, according to a statement from the software provider.

Alan Osrin, managing director of Sage Software Australia, said the tool will increase accountants’ efficiency and accessibility by enabling their clients to conveniently download and access documents in a highly secure manner, 24 hours a day.

“The portal allows accountants and end clients to work more efficiently," Mr Osrin said. "Accountants can now spend their time focusing on greater value-adding tasks as opposed to locating a file for a client, and their clients can access important information and files as and when they need them.

“We all live hurried lives, and we want today’s technology to work better for us.”

Joel Curry of Incentive Accountants said the new module helps him share large documents with his clients.

“It has already helped a client who used to send us large files via DropBox and now uses the portal to transfer and review files,” he said.

Sandra Magann, of Sea Change Accounting Solutions, said the fact that it also links into Document Manager is a real bonus.

"It’s a very exciting addition to the suite and will improve both client relations and our administrative processes,” she said.
