Moore Global announces new international automotive, aviation, tax leaders
BusinessThe global accounting network says the appointment of these three global leaders strengthens its international reach through world-class expertise at the helm.
The international network unveiled the appointment of three global sector leaders: Leon Dutkiewicz Jr. to lead its tax sector, Andreas Staribacher to lead its global aviation sector, and Thomas Ziegler to lead the network’s global automotive sector. The network said that in the lead-up to their appointments, the trio has been building their respective sectors across the network over the past year through work with firms on client mandates, and sector activity, formalising the work and establishing clear leadership.
Leon Dutkiewicz Jr. (pictured, left) has been appointed to lead the network’s global tax practice. Dutkiewicz Jr. is a partner and international tax practice leader at US-based professional services firm Citrin Cooperman, which is part of the Moore Group network. He has chaired the network’s global tax leadership group since 2018, leading a team of more than 40 professionals.
Dutkiewicz Jr. brings more than 30 years of experience in international tax, with a proficiency in structuring global acquisitions and divestitures, analysing income tax treaty benefits, assisting with transfer pricing implementation, managing multi-state tax issues, and compliance services.
Before his role as international tax leader at Citrin Cooperman, Dutkiewicz Jr. was a managing partner at D&H Global Tax Group for two years, before the firm merged with Citrin Cooperman in early 2018.
“Taxes sit at the centre of how international businesses operate. Clients need advice that works across jurisdictions and stands up in practice,” Dutkiewicz Jr. said.
Staribacher (pictured, centre) has been appointed to lead the network’s global aviation sector. He has more than 40 years of experience in professional services and the aviation industry, with 35 of those years in auditing and tax consulting as a certified public accountant.
Staribacher is the managing partner of Vienna-based medium-sized auditing firm Moore Centurion, which he founded in 1986. He is a commercial pilot who gained direct experience across airlines, airports, fuel supply, and regulation, which Moore Global said helps to shape its aviation sector offering.
“Aviation requires both technical knowledge and real operational understanding. We have that across the network and are now making it easier for clients to access,” Staribacher said.
Thomas Ziegler (pictured, right) has been appointed to lead Moore Global’s global automotive sector and will coordinate how the network serves the international automotive industry. After serving on the board of Munich-based law firm INTARIA since 2009, Ziegler was appointed managing partner of the firm in mid-2025, when it entered a partnership with Moore Group.
Ziegler has more than 20 years of experience advising automotive supply chain clients in Germany and around the world. Through his involvement in developing a cross-border collaboration model and working with firms across Europe, North America, and Asia, he has led the sector's development since 2023.
According to the Moore Global website, Ziegler has helped manufacturers and suppliers navigate, advising on audit, tax structuring, transfer pricing, cross-border compliance, and M&A advisory in the automotive industry in order to grow, restructure, and compete internationally.
He helps clients with consistent, senior-level advice across every market they operate in, with global reach, and with direct partner access that larger structures rarely offer.
“The automotive sector is shifting fast, with supply chains changing and new entrants coming into the market. Our role is to bring the network together in a way that is practical and useful to clients,” Ziegler said.
Moore Global interim chief executive Vivienne Muir said: “Our clients want access to world-class expertise wherever they do business. These appointments make that easier and strengthen how we work across the network.”
Accountants Daily's sister brand, Accounting Times, previously reported on Moore Australia’s promotion of six in July last year, the appointment of a new M&A lead in Victoria and Tasmania in January last year, and three further promotions by the Australian satellite company earlier that month.
