The HLB Mann Judd Australasian Association has welcomed the addition of a new firm in Newcastle, NSW, to further grow its national network and influence.
The expansion, effective from 1 October, was set to strengthen the firm’s audit and assurance practice as it welcomed the sector, made up of four partners and two directors from Cutcher & Neale.

Before the transition from Cutcher & Neale to HLB Mann Judd, it was noted that the six-person audit and assurance team had been associated with HLB Mann Judd for several years as a representative firm.
It was added that it was a strategic expansion as the former Cutcher & Neale, now HLB Mann Judd, audit and assurance team had built a reputation for its audit services, which supported a wide range of clients, including not-for-profits, clubs, community organisations, and private businesses.
With this addition, the HLB Mann Judd network was brought to 12 independent member firms located in major cities and regional business centres in Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji, as well as one representative firm.
Tony Fittler, chair of HLB Mann Judd Australasian Association, welcomed the expansion with positive remarks towards the team’s reputation and skill set in the audit and assurance space.
“We welcome the Newcastle team as a full member firm of the HLB Mann Judd Australasian Association. They have been a part of the Association and key contributors to the network for over several years as a representative firm,” he said.
“Their long-standing reputation for quality audit and assurance services, particularly in supporting community organisations and private businesses, is an excellent fit with our network. This addition helps strengthen HLB Mann Judd’s national presence and ensures we continue to deliver trusted expertise to clients across Australia and beyond.”
Mark O’Connor, HLB Mann Judd Newcastle partner, said the branch would continue to operate from its existing base, as part of the national HLB Mann Judd network.
“This step forward is about strengthening the relationships that exist. The Newcastle office has always been devoted to delivering clarity and consistency,” O’Connor said.
“This transition gives our clients even greater access to the depth and breadth of HLB nationally and internationally, without losing the local relationships they value.”
