Accountants Daily was proud to host the 10th annual Australian Accounting Awards black-tie gala ceremony tonight (Friday, 30 June 2023) at The Star in Sydney, with the support of principal partner Intuit QuickBooks.

A total of 36 members of the accounting profession were chosen as this year’s winners out of 285 finalists.

They won across 15 group and 20 individual submission-based categories while the highest-scoring winner emerged as the recipient of the coveted Excellence Award.

This year, that prize went to Natalia Clack, founder and director at Easy Super, and tax agent and registered SMSF auditor.

She was also named Superannuation Specialist Accountant of the Year earlier in the evening.

Other winners included an accounting consultant, student, auditor, bookkeeper, mentor, chief financial officer, and the rising star of tomorrow.

Group winners included a bookkeeping firm, boutique firms, business advisory firm, multi-service firm, and an SMSF firm.

Over 520 members of the accounting profession attended this year’s awards ceremony, where Australian comedian and emcee Vince Sorrenti provided light and laughter throughout the evening.

The Australian Accounting Awards — which launched in 2014 — is the benchmark for excellence in accounting and provides national recognition to those influencing the profession and propelling the industry forward.

This year was no different, with the ceremony celebrating the best and brightest in the accounting profession while pinpointing professional development and innovation.

The awards shone a spotlight on those who contributed significantly to the profession while advancing their careers, from the most senior ranks to the rising stars and students.

The gala ceremony presented an opportunity for members of the accounting profession to let their hair down and revel in their achievements while networking with industry leaders and its most successful professionals.

In his address at the Australian Accounting Awards, Accountants Daily editor Phil King said: The Australian Accounting Awards highlight the best of the best in the profession over the past 12 months … but they do much more than that.

“Over a decade now, they have shone a light on the profound depth of talent and commitment right across the industry.

Accountants Daily thanks all its partners for supporting the 10th annual Australian Accounting Awards including principal partner Intuit QuickBooks, platinum partners CPA Australia and Ignition, gold partners Accounting Business Expo, Accountancy Insurance, Accounting Times, Finni, Jirsch Sutherland, and SuperConcepts, research partner Momentum Intelligence, and charity partner Invictus Australia.
