A lion dance attended by Chinese business groups has helped RSM Australia’s Perth HQ celebrate the new Lunar New Year.
In collaboration with the Exchange Tower in Perth, the firm welcomed employees, visitors and their families to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit.
Xiaowen Shi, an RSM partner in the China practice group, officiated the event and said it was a positive expression of the firm’s support for the Chinese community.
“We’ve supported numerous Chinese businesses and clients with business operations in Australia and China,” said Ms Shi. “I am very pleased to be able to say how authentic we are in our approach to engaging with our Chinese partners, clients and advisers.”
“RSM is very proud of its connection to the Chinese community here in Perth, and right across Western Australia.”
Hundreds of office workers, families and children embraced the lion dance performance by the award-winning Yaolin Kung Fu Association, which also included a feng shui routine, an aerial pole performance and live percussion music.
Among the special guests were the China Chamber of Commerce in Australia Perth president David Sun, and Australia China Business Council WA president James Clarke.
Both Dr Sun and Mr Clarke appreciated the demonstration of RSM Australia’s ongoing engagement with the Chinese business community, the firm said.
RSM Australia commenced operations in 1922 as a husband and wife partnership selling a bookkeeping and recording system. Today it is a national accounting firm with more than 1,600 staff and 130 partners.
