Effective 15 November 2021, the merged entity will be jointly led by Pitcher Partners Newcastle and Hunter’s managing partner, Michael Minter and DFK Crosbie’s managing partner, Shaun Mahony, and will see DFK Crosbie take on the Pitcher Partners brand.

As a result of the merger, the new firm will operate with a total of 140 team members, including 12 partners, and five directors, with offices located in Newcastle and Maitland.

Both firms have touted their mutually strong backgrounds across business advisory, tax, audit, SMSF, wealth management, and finance.

Following the merger, the new firm will offer services covering a diverse range of industry sectors, including the hospitality industry, family and privately owned businesses, manufacturing, transport, medical, property and construction, as well as nonfarm payrolls (NFP) and aged care.

Commenting on the future direction of the combined firm, Mr Minter said that the partnership will see the continued focus on providing clients with personalised services.

He underscored that throughout the merger, both firms were united in their goal of putting clients and the community first.

“It is about providing our clients with absolutely the best advice and outcomes; it is about combining our shared knowledge, experiences, talent, and passion for our clients, so that their business continues to grow and seize newfound opportunities,” Mr Minter said.

Moving forward, Mr Mahony said that the newly combined firm will not only focus on helping businesses effectively manage their finances but also build on partnering with the community.

He noted that “[The firm’s] strong community presence means that we will be able to provide the region and greater NSW with outstanding expertise, long into the future.”
