A global insolvency network has welcomed five new member firms in the Asia-Pacific region as it looks to build on its referral network.

The Global Restructuring and Insolvency Professionals (GRIP) network has now unveiled five new members, including McDonald Vague Limited in New Zealand, KLC CPA based in Hong Kong, TSMP Law in Singapore, Ahlawat & Associates from India, and DFDL based across Bangladesh, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Indonesia, Myanmar and Vietnam, and the Philippines.

The five new members will join Australia insolvency firm Jirsch Sutherland as part of GRIP’s Asia-Pacific arm.

GRIP’s cross-border marketing and referral network was first launched in 2014 in Europe and now extends to Canada, Central and South America.

Jirsch Sutherland joined GRIP in late 2020 and was instrumental in researching and vetting the new member firms across the Asia Pacific.

“We’re thrilled to welcome our first APAC members to the GRIP network,” said Bradd Morelli, Jirsch Sutherland’s national managing partner. “It’s more important than ever to have international connections, particularly because business travel has been throttled by the pandemic.

“More international businesses with regional divisions or assets are seeking assistance, and there’s even greater demand for firms with the expertise and experience to handle cross-border matters.

Mr Morelli said the new member additions would benefit clients across the region, with GRIP members ready to support each other with their local knowledge and contacts, and understanding of local regulatory and legal requirements.

“These firms tick all the boxes. They’re highly experienced in insolvency and restructuring, have strong professional reputations, shared values and standards – and a desire to connect with other insolvency firms internationally,” he said.

“The benefits for clients and referrers are immense. For Jirsch Sutherland’s own clients and referral network it means we are well equipped to act for them on any issue of international scope.”
