FinaMetrica announces merger, creation of new entity
BusinessRisk profiling service FinaMetrica has announced a merger with a Canadian financial and investment planning software provider to create a new global entity.
The merger with PlanPlus became effective on 1 August, with the new entity - PlanPlus Global - offering services focused on evidence-based investment suitability aimed at banks, investment managers and financial advice enterprises.
Despite the merger, both FinaMetric and PlanPlus will continue to offer its products on a standalone basis.
PlanPlus founder Shawn Brayman will now helm PlanPlus Global, while FinaMetrica co-founder Paul Resnik will assume the role of director of global markets.
The merger comes after a decade-long collaboration between both firms, with Mr Resnik saying the new entity will now serve customers in more than 30 countries worldwide.
“Our products complement each other and we share a common commitment to delivering financial systems that prioritise client’s best interests,” Mr Resnik said.
“Meanwhile, we both have global businesses serving the corporate market and individual advisers.
“The merger comes at just the right time for us to meet the market’s demands for an affordable, scalable and defensible advice solution that can be applied internationally across platforms, channels and borders.”
FinaMetrica’s other co-founder Geoff Davey has also announced his exit from the business after his retirement from executive roles in 2015.
