Last year, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) formed a strategic alliance to boost resources and services for members.

The two organisations held a summit meeting in Singapore to review the year and identify further opportunities.

They have agreed to co-locate staff in a number of strategically critical markets, being London, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong.

“Over the last year, our strategic alliance has enabled us to provide powerful joint leadership on behalf of the profession in areas such as tax reform and integrated reporting,” said Brian McEnery FCCA, president of ACCA.

“As we head towards the second year of this important relationship, we want to strengthen the way we work together by co-locating staff in order to work on key projects and initiatives and better support our members.”

Recently elected CA ANZ president Cassandra Crowley said that the strategic alliance has increased the profile of both designations worldwide.

“As we head into year two, I am proud of the progress we have made in areas such as thought leadership, professional development and member support,” Ms Crowley said.

“Going forward we will continue to ensure we work together on behalf of our members and an increasingly global profession.”

The two organisations also identified four key areas to focus on in the second year of the alliance.

These are increasing the profile of both brands worldwide, enhancing support to members and wider stakeholders, contributing to the development of the profession and business world and demonstrating the strength of a progressive alliance across the accounting sector.
