Ms Westover joins PwC from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), where she spent six years as head of superannuation, handling policy development, advocacy and leadership across all aspects of superannuation, including SMSFs.

Ms Westover was also a member of the ATO’s Superannuation Industry Advisory Group.

In her new role, Ms Westover will seek to bolster the SMSF-specific services on offer to PwC clients gravitating towards the sector.

PwC Private Clients partner Naree Brooks noted that with “rapid sector growth” over the past few years, the appointment of Ms Westover serves as an investment into the future capabilities of the firm.

“Liz has an outstanding track record in the superannuation industry and in SMSFs in particular. I can’t think of anyone better to join our vibrant, expert team into the future as we continue to grow this part of our business,” Ms Brooks stated.

“SMSF services are a natural and complementary offering to PwC’s Private Clients’ core service offering, which includes tax and business services, family advisory and wealth services,” she added.

Speaking on her appointment, Ms Westover spoke of her excitement to assist PwC in a burgeoning sector.

“I am delighted to be taking on this new and important portfolio with PwC’s Private Clients and to strengthening our service offering for Australians who are looking for independent expertise with their SMSFs.”
