Jonathan Metcalfe will lead the public transport practice from March of this year.

PwC managing partner of deals, Sean Gregory, said Mr Metcalfe will lead an already successful division which advises governments on major procurements and customer service outcomes.

"State governments continue to look to the private sector to help deliver on their commitment and desire to enhance and improve public transport systems, in line with continuous growth in demand,” he said.

"This is also reflected in the ever-increasing levels of investment in public transport committed to by all state governments."

Mr Gregory said public transport is a key strategy for a sustainable and cost-effective way to connect people with cities and a very necessary focus in light of continued urbanisation and growth in population density.

"Jonathan will support our objectives to provide world-class expertise to our clients in this critical national imperative. With over 15 years' international and local experience in public transport, Jonathan’s leadership in the sector is a great addition to the firm," he said.
