Angelo Azar has been appointed as chief operating officer of Prospa, effective 7 September 2026.

Azar brings more than 20 years of operational leadership experience across financial services, insurance and digital banking, with deep expertise in scaling customer operations, leading transformation and using technology to simplify how businesses work.

He joins Prospa from Ubank, where he was chief operating officer with responsibility for customer operations, complaints and resolutions, fraud, payments, cards, supply chain and procurement.

Before Ubank, Azar spent four years as a founding executive and chief operating officer at Honey Insurance, where he helped scale technology and embed AI, automation and digital service across its operations and customer experience.

He has also held senior roles at Hollard and Commonwealth Bank, spanning customer operations, sales and service, claims, risk and compliance, partnerships and operational transformation.

The chief operating officer is a newly created role at Prospa, created to strengthen its customer operations and support the company as it grows.

Reporting to the chief executive and co-founder Greg Moshal, Angelo will lead Prospa’s customer operations teams across sales operations, collections, customer support and resolutions.

Prospa chief executive and co-founder Greg Moshal said Azar brings deep customer operations experience, a strong track record of leading teams through growth and a practical approach to using technology and AI to make businesses simpler and more effective.

“This is a new role for Prospa and an important investment in how we grow," said Moshal.

"Angelo knows how to scale how we operate while keeping our customers and our people at the centre. His leadership will help us move faster and deliver more value for small businesses across Australia and New Zealand.”

Commenting on his appointment, Azar said he had always admired Prospa's focus on small business, its pace and the genuine passion its people bring to helping customers succeed.

“I’m excited to build on those foundations. My first priority is to listen to our people and customers, and find where we can make their experience even simpler as Prospa grows," said Azar.
