Appointments

Accounting and advisory firm BDO Australia has announced that Jason de Boer will be its new office managing partner at its Melbourne CBD office.

Jason de Boer is set to lead as the new Melbourne OMP, which the firm said “mark[s] the next stage in the firm’s leadership journey”.

De Boer began his career with BDO as Melbourne tax partner in charge (corporate and international) back in 2014. According to the firm, he has since had a “strong track record of leadership and client service.”

Commenting on de Boer’s time as partner, current office managing partner, David Garvey, said he “played a key role in mentoring emerging leaders within the firm.”

He will assume the role later this year as Garvey begins his transition into his new chief executive partner role from 1 December 2025.

“I look forward to working alongside him to ensure a smooth transition before I step into the role of Chief Executive Partner in December,” Garvey added.

“Having worked closely with Jason, I’ve seen firsthand his commitment to BDO’s values and his ability to bring people together around a shared vision.”

“Jason is an authentic leader with a people-first mindset, and I have every confidence that he will excel and guide the Melbourne office into its next chapter.”

De Boer said: “I’m grateful for the trust placed in me and proud to continue building on the strong foundations David has set.”

This news follows recent growth at the firm. Accountants Daily's sister brand, HR Leader, covered the appointment of seven new partners in offices across Australia in July; 2 new partners to its Canberra office in June; 5 new partners across its national network in the same month and 4 new partners across its Sydney and Melbourne offices in April

These additions were supported by the firm’s commitment in June to “grow its talent and client base through a national office expansion plan.”

“I look forward to connecting with colleagues, clients and the broader business community as we build on BDO’s reputation for excellence, as well as overseeing a smooth and successful relocation to our new offices at 35 Collins Street,” de Boer said.
