BDO Sydney welcomed Sartorio as a partner in audit and assurance and Widdows as a partner in cyber.
Sartorio would have a primary focus on the real estate and construction sector, bringing over 23 years of experience in advisory and assurance services, including financial reporting, accounting advisory, IPO readiness, and internal control effectiveness, as well as the audit of large private and ASX-listed companies.
Widdows was noted to be returning as a partner in cyber after having had a two-year hiatus. BDO said he brought nearly two decades of experience in cyber strategy and governance, cloud and emerging technology security and cyber resilience, as well as incident readiness.
Grant Saxon, BDO NSW managing partner, said he welcomed Sartorio and Widdows to their partnership roles.
“We are proud of what we have achieved at BDO, and our culture and unique position in the market continues to attract highly skilled professionals like David and Ross,” he said.
“Both David and Ross are highly regarded in their respective areas and add to the quality of the BDO team. As a firm we are committed to providing innovative services across our portfolio in a rapidly changing world, and these new senior appointments further enhance this position.”
The Brisbane office welcomed Leahy, O’Meara and Lovett as partners in the project and infrastructure advisory team, as well as Griffin as a partner in risk advisory.
According to the firm, Leahy was a nationally recognised strategic transport modelling specialist with over 20 years of experience in leading diverse teams in the delivery of many significant and complex infrastructure projects and programs.
O’Meara also had over 20 years of experience in the industry, including government roles and leadership of professional services businesses in northern Australia and New Zealand.
Lovett was set to work across both the Brisbane and Darwin offices and had more than 25 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. He was noted to have specialist expertise in regional development and had a particular focus on northern Australia.
Griffin was welcomed to the risk advisory sector with her two decades of experience in governance, risk and internal audit across government agencies and GOCs.
Steven Sorbello, BDO Brisbane managing partner, said the four appointments brought the firm’s national tally of partners close to 350.
“We are pleased to welcome David, Sean, Scott and Ginny to our team. Their extensive experience and expertise will significantly enhance our capabilities and strengthen our service offerings across project infrastructure and risk advisory services,” he said.
“These appointments reinforce our commitment to client service, innovative thinking and a growth mindset. Their contributions will deliver exceptional value to our clients.”
Rounding out the appointments was Andrews joining the Perth office as a partner in audit and assurance, to further deepen the firm’s capabilities in the natural resources and construction sectors.
BDO Perth said Andrews had over 20 years of professional experience, which included a decade of dedicated service in the Western Australian market and was widely regarded for his work with ASX-listed mining and contracting businesses.
“Andrews specialised in audit and assurance, financial accounting advisory, and investigating accountants’ reviews, with a track record of delivering high-impact, outcome-driven solutions.”
