Grant Thornton Adelaide adds corporate tax partner to network
AppointmentsGrant Thornton Adelaide has welcomed its newest corporate tax partner, Mark D’Angelica.
The professional services firm has revealed the recent addition of Mark D’Angelica as corporate tax partner in the Adelaide office.
Effective from early May, Grant Thornton Adelaide said it was pleased to announce D’Angelica’s position as a partner in the corporate tax team.
According to the firm, D’Angelica would bring nearly 20 years of experience as a tax specialist across big four firms to the role, as well as tax experience in both domestic corporate and multinational companies.
David Hawkes, partner and head of tax at Grant Thornton Adelaide, said D’Angelica had extensive experience in income tax, stamp duty, GST and VAT, transfer pricing and employment taxes, which had established him as a trusted adviser to executive teams, board members and shareholders on a broad range of taxation matters.
“Mark is a welcome addition to the Adelaide tax team, who are looking forward to collaborating with him,” he said.
“Mark’s passion particularly in the energy and resources and not-for-profit sectors, alongside his unique blend of corporate and professional experience, will be invaluable when guiding clients on their strategic tax decisions.”
The firm added that D’Angelica possessed strong experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly regarding the application of the petroleum resource rent tax legislation, state ad valorem royalties, excise regime, and income tax matters that affected organisations within the energy, resources and renewables sector.
In addition, D’Angelica is passionate about assisting not-for-profit entities with their tax strategies and is the treasurer of an elected not-for-profit organisation in the Adelaide Italian community, ComItEs South Australia.
“I’m excited to join Grant Thornton and bring my corporate, not-for-profit, and professional services experience to the team. My goal is to support clients and add value to organisations on their growth journey,” D’Angelica said.
