The firm welcomed Dalton’s appointment and noted it would strengthen its commitment to delivering integrated financial solutions across Australia and would enhance its ability to support clients in navigating an increasingly complex tax landscape.

Dalton was set to bring over 25 years of experience across the public and private sectors to the role, as well as expertise in complex, high-stakes tax matters such as cross-border taxation, tax disputes and strategic risk management.
Modoras noted Dalton had played a “pivotal role” in landmark cases, including one of Australia’s longest-running tax audits, FCT v Consolidated Media Holdings Ltd HCA 55.
Jonathan Rudman, Modoras’ managing partner, said this strategic appointment supported the firm’s long-term growth strategy and enhanced its ability to meet the evolving needs of businesses, families and high-net-worth individuals.
“Timothy’s appointment is a significant milestone for Modoras. His experience and leadership will be instrumental in helping our clients navigate the increasingly complex tax environment and secure sustainable long-term outcomes.”
Dalton joined Modoras following 18 years at EY, where he was a partner in both Australia and the US.
The firm noted Dalton had spent 10 years in the US and held roles in New York, Washington, DC, and Silicon Valley, where he led engagements for prominent Australian and US clients, including high-net-worth individuals and multinational corporate groups.
In addition to this, Modoras said Dalton was known for his “strategic, outcome-driven leadership” and had a proven track record of transforming tax complexity into opportunity.
“He has also pioneered innovative tax technology solutions by leveraging emerging technologies and forming strategic alliances with global firms such as SAP,” Modoras said.
“His work with leading organisations, including Goldman Sachs, Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, and Boeing, reflects the depth of insight he now brings to Modoras, enhancing the firm’s ability to deliver forward-thinking, integrated tax solutions.”
Dalton said he was looking forward to joining the team at Modoras.
“Modoras’ commitment to making the difference resonates deeply with my own values,” he said.
“I’m excited to join a team that shares my passion for helping clients achieve more, and I look forward to contributing to its continued success.”
