Appointments

The appointment to partner comes 21 years after he joined the firm as an insolvency graduate in 2002.

Jirsch Sutherland’s Western Australian division, WA Insolvency Solutions (WAIS), has promoted a former graduate who started with the firm in 2002 to partner.

The promotion of Greg Prout comes after he joined the firm with a commerce degree in November 2002 to work his way up to be one of the few insolvency practitioners in Australia holding dual qualifications as both a registered liquidator and bankruptcy trustee.

WAIS managing partner Jimmy Trpcevski is full of praise for Mr Prout, having worked alongside him since 2005.

“I am very proud of his achievements, hard work, dedication and loyalty,” said Mr Trpcevski.

“He always shows exceptional professionalism and an unwavering commitment to those he works with – whether clients, referrers or colleagues.”

Mr Prout said he is keen to continue to support the firm’s clients in his promoted position.

“Having commenced as a graduate with the firm over 20 years ago, I’ve gained vast experience and knowledge, which has helped me to progress to my registration as a liquidator and bankruptcy trustee and now, to being named a partner,” said Mr Prout.

“For me, it’s the culmination of all this hard work. I feel proud to be recognised as a leader within the firm and am looking forward to continuing to mentor staff and also continuing to provide professional, quality advice and service to referrers and clients.”

“I have been lucky and had the privilege to have been mentored and guided by current fellow partners and former partners, who really have made me who I am professionally today.”

The firm said Mr Prout would continue his work across the significant geographical areas looking after matters in Perth, Kalgoorlie, Albany, Esperance and Broome.

It said his focus will be to work with clients on corporate and personal insolvency matters across a wide variety of sectors including construction, property, mining and manufacturing, transport and hospitality.

Jirsch Sutherland’s national managing partner Bradd Morelli said the promotion of Mr Prout demonstrated the firm’s commitment to helping develop careers.

“We are proud of the longevity of many of our team members and Greg is certainly a strong example of progression within our firm,” said Mr Morelli.

“He’s an exceptional team member and very deserved of this new role.”
