BDO appoints 17 partners for 1 July promotions

Appointments

The appointments reflect the firm’s commitment to developing its employees through to the partner level, it said.

BDO has appointed 17 additional partners as part of its 1 July promotions, taking the firm’s total number of partners up to 269.

Tony Schiffmann, BDO’s chief executive partner, said the promotion of 17 employees to partner demonstrates the firm’s commitment to developing its workers.

“We remain committed to nurturing the people that we have at BDO and today’s announcement of 17 people moving up to the position of partner demonstrates our support of future leaders by providing tangible career development opportunities,” said Mr Schiffmann.

The firm said the promoted partners work throughout its firm with three in audit, two in tax, eight in business services, and four in its advisory practice.

After reaching the 250 partner milestone in January, BDO said its consistent growth over 2022–23 with 18 lateral hires – of whom 12 were drawn from larger global competitors – reflect the strength of the firm’s ability to attract experienced talent, along with the strong demand for its services.

The firm said it had reached over 2,350 employees, and that its culture and brand promise of “ideas people trust,” plays a pivotal role in its retention strategy and makes BDO an attractive destination for professionals looking for change.

Along with the 17 promotions to partner, the firm said it would reveal several director appointments on 1 July, which it said reflects its dedication to nurturing internal growth.

Those who were part of the 1 July promotions to partner were:

  • Dane Perumal - audit

  • Lilian Luu - business services
