William Buck promotes four to director and seven to principal

Appointments

The latest appointments cap a record year for career advancement at the firm.

William Buck has announced four internal promotions to director and seven to principal after a record year of appointments by the firm with 28 directors promoted taking the company’s total to 118.

The promotions are across several sectors including audit and assurance, tax services, restructuring and insolvency, business advisory and superannuation.

Chair of William Buck Australia and New Zealand, Jamie McKeough, said that the scope of its client base allowed for the firm’s continued growth.

“It’s the underlying strength and continuity of our relationships that enable us to maintain our strong client base in the middle market – a segment we’ve remained true to for 125 years,” said Mr McKeough.

“To become a director at William Buck, in addition to outstanding technical skills, you need a proven ability to form client relationships, provide value to clients and develop staff.

“Those we’ve welcomed to key leadership positions this year have not only delivered exceptional client service consistently, but they have demonstrated this relationship-driven approach and a strong alignment with our Care values.”

Mr McKeough was also proud that the firm had been developing its directors internally with 19 out of the 28 promotions in the past year being internal.

A quarter of those promoted also began their careers at William Buck, something Mr McKeough said showed the firm’s plan to grow its staff.

“Our commitment to learning and development continues to evolve to meet shifting needs and support sustainability and succession,” said Mr McKeough.

“The rapid rise of many of our younger directors is evidence of this, and that we support the personal and professional growth of our people.

“In addition to expanding our capabilities across our traditional service lines, we’ve appointed two senior executives, a promotion to the newly created roles of chief learning officer and the appointment of a new chief risk officer.”

The four new directors:

  • Nicola Bird – tax services (NSW)
  • Cain Meschiati – business advisory (South Australia)
  • Garth O'Connor Price – restructuring and insolvency (Victoria)
  • Marisa Cursio – chief learning officer (Victoria)

The new principals:

  • Peter Andreassen – business advisory (Queensland)
  • Zeb Ashton – wealth advisory (Victoria)
  • Lloyd Crawford – audit and assurance (NSW)
  • Berrin Daricili – R&D tax incentives
  • Jennie Morrison – business advisory (Victoria)
  • T'Shona Panton – business advisory (Victoria)
  • Alistair Taylor-Spry – audit and assurance (South Australia)
