Appointments

The Sydney-based firm joins SW Accountants & Advisors private client division.

SW Accountants & Advisors has recruited Armstrong Dawson to its network including principal Greg Will and his team of 10.

Mr Will, who led advisory and accounting services at Armstrong Dawson, was "a talented and experienced partner” in the Sydney market that SW was proud to attract, chief executive Duane Rogers said.

“Greg has worked in professional practice for over 20 years and is a trusted adviser to business and a well-regarded authority on private business issues, regularly commentating in national and local press on how to increase business value,” he said.

“He has successfully proven he is able to build and grow practices, particularly in the private client service space. He will be a great addition to our Business Private Client Advisory division, ably leading our growth aspirations in Sydney.”

Armstrong Dawson was created in 2012 as a boutique advisory and accountancy practice specialising in commercial advice.

Mr Will, whose career has encompassed stints at Grant Thornton and PwC, said joining SW was a huge opportunity.

“I am thrilled to join a firm with a clear growth agenda, underpinned by strong values and a culture that offers outstanding client service,” he said.

“My team, both in Australia and abroad, are excited for a successful future with a full-service national firm with a strong international footprint.

“Joining SW will support our client’s broader needs in audit, corporate finance and specialist tax services.”

Mr Rogers said the Armstrong Dawson wholly-owned subsidiary International Accounting Solutions (INTAS), led by Mr Will, would add to SW’s capability in this specialised area.

INTAS establishes and manages Australian operations for overseas organisations, providing business advisory and virtual CFO services to a broad range of clients including not-for-profits, start-ups and established SMEs.

“We believe that the firm’s ability to attract quality talent and high-calibre candidates speaks to our values, our culture and our focus on people and growth,” Mr Rogers said.

The addition of Mr Will and his team follows the recent announcement that the Walker Wayland WA team would also be joining SW.

A top 50 practice, SW operates as a national firm across Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney with 35 partners and 300-plus staff. With the merger, its Sydney team numbers six partners and 50 staff.
