Robert James has now joined Mazars as a tax partner in its Melbourne office.

A former director at rival mid-tier Grant Thornton, Mr James will now be tasked with expanding Mazars’ tax consulting division.

According to Mazars, Mr James has 18 years of experience, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, specialist taxes, corporate and international tax.

“We’re delighted to welcome Robert to the firm. His track record of creating value through clear, timely and pragmatic advice further strengthens our position as a solid compass for our clients,” said Mazars managing partner Richard DeBono.

“Now more than ever, clients need clear guidance, and Robert will be a great addition to the team.”

Mr James said he was excited to join the firm and was looking forward to working alongside other recently appointed partners in the Melbourne office, including new tax partner Evan Beissel.

“I am really excited to be joining the Mazars team at this early stage of their growth journey in Australia,” Mr James said.

“I genuinely believe that the opportunities available to Mazars are second to none. I’m looking forward to working with Evan and the team to further strengthen the tax advisory division.”
