A former big four audit director has now joined a mid-tier firm as a partner as the firm readies for a year of “substantial growth”.
BDO has announced the appointment of James Dixon as its new audit partner in its Melbourne office.
Mr Dixon was a former director at PwC, where he specialised in financial services assurance. He had commenced his career in 2001 as a graduate in its UK offices before making the move to PwC’s Melbourne office in 2006.
His appointment follows five internal promotions at the beginning of January, which took BDO’s partner total to 200 nationally.
BDO’s office managing partner in Melbourne, David Garvey, said Mr Dixon’s appointment comes during a period of substantial growth for BDO as it works through the merger of its east coast offices.
“We expect 2020 will be an exciting year for BDO with new talent joining the firm, continued growth and the merging of our Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne offices creating new opportunities for BDO to win new work from our larger global competitors,” Mr Garvey said.
“Financial services is a significant growth area for BDO nationally, and James will bring additional capabilities and insights to our team. This is a great time for James to join our growing firm and we’re glad to have him here.”
BDO released its global results in December 2019, with global revenue topping $US9.6 billion for the year ended 30 September 2019, representing a year-on-year growth of 10.1 per cent.
