BDO appoints new advisory partner

A former mid-tier partner has now joined BDO as a new advisory partner specialising in corporate finance and restructuring services.

BDO has announced the appointment of Shaun McKinnon as a new advisory partner in the firm’s Brisbane office, specialising in providing corporate finance and restructuring services with a focus on the food and agribusinesses sector.

Mr McKinnon was a former financial advisory partner at Grant Thornton, and was previously with big four firm EY as an executive director.

“While Shaun has advisory experience in a broad spectrum of industries, he has established himself as a leader in the agribusiness sector where he specialises in corporate transactions, providing financial due diligence and advisory services for buyers, sellers and financiers,” said BDO business restructuring partner and national leader for the division Andrew Fielding.

“In the agribusiness sector, Shaun has previously acted for various parties with respect to some of Australia’s largest transactions including Consolidated Pastoral Company and S. Kidman & Co.”

Mr McKinnon is active on a number of board and committee positions including the Griffith University Business School Advisory Board, the Matchfit Platforms Advisory Board, the ASIC Insolvency Liaison Committee and the North Brisbane Rugby Club Committee.
