Pippa Hobson, a former associate director with KPMG, has been appointed as a partner with BDO’s Perth risk advisory services team and will begin in her role on 26 February.

Ms Hobson’s appointment brings the total number of partners in the BDO Perth office to 25.

Previously a risk consulting and internal audit partner at Crowe Horwath, Ms Hobson has over 20 years’ experience in internal audit, governance and risk advisory, working with clients in the public sector, listed and non-listed companies in the private sector and not-for-profit entities.

Ms Hobson is also a current committee member of the WA Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors.

BDO WA managing partner, Peter Toll, said the Ms Hobson’s appointment was a reflection of the increased client demand for internal audit and risk consulting work being experienced by the firm.

“In fact, BDO WA’s advisory service line as a whole, which encompasses risk advisory, forensic services, cyber security and management consulting is similarly responding to increased demand for their respective offerings,” said Mr Toll.

BDO lead partner for risk advisory services in WA, Andrew Hillbeck, welcomed Ms Hobson’s appointment amidst constant emerging risks.

“The rapid pace of change and the continually shifting landscape being faced by all industry players, is requiring organisations to identify, assess and address emerging risks without losing sight of their existing business and control environment,” said Mr Hillbeck.

“We are looking forward to welcoming Pippa, and her wealth of experience, insights and knowledge to the RAS team.
