John Dorazio, who has been with Walker Wayland Western Australia for 15 years and was made director in 2007, has officially been appointed managing director.

The news of this appointment was made public today, and Walker Wayland told Accountants Daily that Mr Dorazio began his new post in the new financial year.

Mr Dorazio replaces Joe Lamhut who is stepping down from the role, but remaining with the firm, after 15 years.

Mr Dorazio plans to drive innovation and growth within the firm, while also remaining as leader of Walker Wayland Western Australia’s audit division.

“I want to focus on the firm's values and to provide continued stability during this exciting and challenging time for the accounting and advisory profession,” said Mr Dorazio.

Mr Dorazio also works as a quality reviewer for Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), reviewing and assisting other chartered accountants to ensure they have appropriate quality standards in place within their own practices.

At the end of last year the Walker Wayland Australasia network elected Power Tynan CEO Paul Hilton as its new chair.
