Chris King joined Brisbane-based Pilot Partners as a partner in its corporate advisory and audit team earlier this month. Prior to joining the boutique firm Mr King worked at HLB Mann Judd for 11 years heading up the firms audit division.

“Chris brings a depth of experience across a variety of roles both within accounting practices and in commercial roles which brings multiple perspectives to better understand the thoughts and motivations of our clients,” Pilot Partners managing partner Brian McDonald said.

“We believe his strong skills in insolvency, training, due diligence and risk management, combined with his experience in consulting, CFO and management accounting roles will be of great benefit to Pilot Partners.”

Mr King told Accountants Daily that he is planning to increase the size of the corporate advisory and audit team.

“The group offers a number of complementary services, across the audit and corporate advisory space. This includes financial modelling, internal audit, risk management and in assisting businesses looking to list on the ASX,” he said.

“As the business grows we will continue to seek out motivated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable individuals to become part of the team.”

Mr King believes that working with a cross disciplinary team is the key to client satisfaction and that his multifaceted background will allow him to easily work across all areas of the team.

“We are fortunate to have new team members with complementary skill sets. This makes the offering of different services lines easier, as we ensure that we operate in those areas that we have specialist knowledge,” he said.

“The exciting thing in this environment is the opportunity to work with individuals with differing backgrounds and skill sets. My experience tells me that when focusing on client issues, utilising multiple skill sets, gives a better outcome as we are able to focus on the issue from multiple perspectives.”
