Mark Pizzacalla, partner-in-charge of BDO Melbourne’s private clients practice, has been appointed to the 10-member board for a three-year term.

The Board of Taxation is a non-statutory advisory body, designed to contribute to improving the design of taxation laws and their operation.

Mr Pizzacalla has completed a PhD in the taxation of SMEs in Australia, and has experience across a range of industries, including telecommunications, retail, sports, property and construction, defence, manufacturing, wholesale and distribution, and professional service firms.

He joined BDO last year and was formally managing partner of Mann Judd in Melbourne. He is also the former chair of The Tax Institute’s National SME Sub-Committee.

Mr Pizzacalla joins new chairman Michael Andrew and fellow new board members Peggy Kau Flux and Craig Yaxley for the three-year appointment.
