In announcing the results, PwC CEO Luke Sayers said all of the firm's businesses had grown during 2015, highlighting the consulting, deals and people businesses, which all delivered double-digit revenue growth.

The more traditional areas of audit and tax also performed well, Mr Sayers said.

“This year we have not only delivered very strong results in newer areas of growth for our firm such as our people, legal, real estate and digital and technology consulting businesses, we have also continued to strengthen our core businesses of audit and tax and legal,” he said.

Mr Sayers said he is particularly pleased by the firm’s performance, given the disruption currently faced across the professional services sector.

“Professional services, like so many other industries, is being disrupted and we are constantly challenging ourselves, listening to what our clients need and adapting our business model and services accordingly.”

The firm’s strong financial results were supported by positive results in PwC’s ‘people and client net promoter scores’, with both increasing on the prior year according to Mr Sayers.

“Having a clear and consistent strategy, together with a vision and set of values that have helped shape the culture of the firm, has been a key driver in our results this year and the continued momentum in our business,” he said.

“We have also had a strong focus on improving diversity and inclusion across the firm and we have undertaken a number of key initiatives during the past 12 months, including a gender pay audit, our new ‘all roles flex’ policy and the appointment of an external diversity advisory board.”
