Executive of the Year (more than $1bn in revenue)


Effective leadership in the competitive Australian market, with international competitors and forces often at play, is key to ensuring the success of a firm or business division.

This award recognises an outstanding managing partner, principal, director, senior partner or chief executive in the accounting industry, whose leadership most effectively shaped their firm’s success in the 2017 calendar year.

Based on business growth metrics as well as support and servicing, this award considers the activities, strategies and actions of the leader in terms of driving increased revenue and efficiencies.


This award is open to all managing partners, senior partners, principals, directors and chief executives of firms providing accounting services in Australia that generated more than $1 billion in revenue in the 2017 calendar year. It is based on the period from 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2017.

QUALITATIVE CRITERIA (maximum 300 words per question)

  • Highlight initiatives that you implemented as the leader of your firm or business division in the 2017 calendar year. Detail the successes these initiatives have delivered.
  • Demonstrate your tactics, strategies and success in generating new business, as well as repeat and referred business and any other marketing campaigns to win business.
  • Highlight how you have delivered innovation in your business and how this has impacted the growth of your practice.
  • Outline any staff management/development strategies you have implemented in your firm to ensure you attract/retain the best talent.
  • What was a major obstacle your firm overcame in the 2017 calendar year, and how did your leadership help to resolve the situation?
